Sanya Deep-Sea Aquarium Topping-Out: China's Top Firm Invests 750M for Tech-Eco Tourism Hub

2025-06-02

Today, our company announced the topping-out of the main structure of the Sanya Deep-Sea Exploration Aquarium project. As a leading enterprise in China's marine technology engineering sector, our company has developed this marine cultural and tourism landmark with the core philosophy of "Technology-Driven Ecological Exhibition." With a total investment of 750 million yuan and covering an area of 48,000 square meters, the project is scheduled to officially open in June 2026. It will become a new-generation aquarium integrating deep-sea ecosystem simulation, intelligent conservation systems, and immersive science education, expected to receive 1.8 million visitors annually and drive the deep integration of urban cultural tourism upgrading and marine conservation education.

Our company has achieved a breakthrough in applying self-developed ultra-high-pressure acrylic pressure-bearing technology in this project. The core exhibition area, the "Mariana Trench Experience Hall," features a double-layer acrylic dome with a thickness of 720mm and a light transmittance of 93%, capable of simulating the pressure environment of 11,000 meters deep sea. Each glass panel has a load-bearing capacity of 12 tons per square meter, setting a new record for pressure-bearing structures in domestic aquariums. The supporting intelligent life support system achieves 96% water recycling through 14-stage water filtration and biofilm treatment technology, reducing energy consumption by 41% compared to traditional solutions. Related technologies have obtained a national invention patent (Patent No.: ZL202510678901.2). The aquarium will display over 28,000 rare marine organisms, including sunfish and manta rays, which will be exhibited in South China for the first time.

In terms of ecological protection, our company has collaborated with Ocean University of China to establish an intelligent breeding center for endangered species. The first phase will focus on artificial breeding research for nautilus and Chinese white dolphins, with plans to release 50,000 artificially cultivated coral seedlings into the South China Sea annually to assist in marine ecological restoration. The interactive experience area introduces a 5D holographic ocean theater and an AI-guided tour system. Through 2,800-square-meter immersive projection and tactile feedback technology, visitors can intuitively experience ecological challenges such as ocean acidification and plastic pollution, with an annual science education coverage expected to reach 400,000 people.

Upon completion, the project will form an integrated ecosystem of "deep-sea exploration-science education-leisure consumption," linking with surrounding ocean-themed hotels and research bases to create a national-level marine cultural and tourism complex. According to our company's project leader, "The Sanya Deep-Sea Exploration Aquarium is a key implementation of our company's 'Technology + Ecology' strategy. Through material innovation and digital technology, we have achieved the first full-dimensional replication of a deep-sea ecosystem on land, not only providing visitors with a stunning immersive experience but also hoping to inspire public attention to marine conservation through technological means."

This topping-out marks another milestone for our company in the field of large-scale marine engineering. Following the successful construction of the Beijing Aquarium and Chengdu Haichang Polar Ocean Park, the company has further consolidated its leading position in marine technology engineering. The project is currently in the equipment installation and organism introduction phase. The first batch of rare species collected from the deep Pacific Ocean, such as siphonophores and lionfish, will arrive in Sanya via our company's customized ocean-going transportation system in November 2025.
