Crafting Aquatic Artistry: Immersive Acrylic Fish Tank Panorama for Themed Restaurants

2025-06-12

Recently, our company successfully completed the core landscape project for the "Ocean Isle · Time" themed restaurant – a giant acrylic fish tank system that integrates ecological aesthetics and spatial art. This innovative project injects an immersive marine experience into the dining space, setting a new benchmark for brands to create differentiated consumption scenarios.

During the project's planning phase, our team deeply analyzed the themed restaurant's design concept of "an underwater hidden paradise in an urban oasis," overcoming the weight limitations and modeling constraints of traditional glass fish tanks. We selected food-grade acrylic with 92% light transmittance to custom-craft an 8-meter-long, 2.5-meter-high arc-shaped panoramic tank. Compared to traditional glass, acrylic reduces weight by 40% and enhances impact resistance by 10 times. Additionally, nano-level polishing technology eliminates joint refraction, achieving a "borderless" visual penetration that makes diners feel immersed in an underwater tunnel.

In the construction process, our engineering team overcame multiple technical challenges: For the restaurant's floor height and load-bearing requirements, we employed a honeycomb structural mechanical support combined with a hidden water circulation system, processing 30 tons of water daily to ensure water clarity and ecological balance. To replicate the natural texture of coral reefs, we collaborated with marine biologists to design simulated reef landscapes, paired with tropical fish schools and live corals, to build a dynamic ecosystem. Notably, we integrated an intelligent light and shadow control system into the tank design for the first time, programming it to simulate diurnal light changes—from corals awakening in morning light to fish shoals migrating at dusk—adding a time-sequenced immersive experience to the dining scene.

"The client’s expectations were exceeded," the project leader stated. "The tank has become the restaurant’s visual focal point, and through the integration of water sounds, light, and ecological landscapes, it has increased the average dining time by 20%." The project’s completion marks a technological breakthrough for our company in the field of commercial space ecological decoration—evolving from single fish tank manufacturing to a provider of holistic solutions combining "spatial scenarios + ecological systems + intelligent interaction."

Currently, we have reached cooperation intentions with multiple chain catering brands. Moving forward, we will continue to leverage the plasticity of acrylic materials, integrate aquarium ecological technology with spatial design aesthetics, and create immersive ecological landscapes that balance ornamental and experiential value for commercial scenarios, driving the "catering + scenario" cross-border innovation to deeper levels.
